
Melinda Sjoblom
Melinda Sjoblom is the principal of Rauner College Prep (RCP). Before assuming her current role, Ms. Sjoblom worked for the past five years as RCP’s Director of Curriculum and Instruction where she supported teachers to develop rigorous courses, push teacher learning, support professional learning communities, and drive student achievement gains. Prior to joining the RCP team, Ms. Sjoblom entered her teaching career as a Teach for America Corps Member as a middle school Social Studies teacher for two years at Pimlico Middle School in Baltimore, and as founding humanities teacher at one of Baltimore’s first charter schools, The Crossroads School. Ms. Sjoblom’s entrepreneurial spirit draws her into the world of starting new schools. She completed her undergraduate coursework at Butler University, majoring in Political Science with a minor in History and American Studies. She received an M.A.T. in Secondary Social Studies from Johns Hopkins University, and an Advanced Certificate of Study in School Leadership from National Louis University in partnership with the KIPP School Leadership Program.
